Well
may I say, have you researched the company "monster"? no....obviously
not, they are THX certified, Michael Jackson has personally recorded albums
via these cables, star wars was also recorded via these!!! I suggest you
look at this site http://www.monstercables.com/company_info/
ultimately again this is a typical case of "the cheap one will do"
well, people do not understand "you pay for what you get" and
by cutting corners your just doing yourself out of anyhting decent.
I suggest you maybe pream the webs away from your wallet while your down

This isn't really a complaint, so why is it on here?!?
Its just a sad old man wanting to moan about something that Johnnie
sums up perfectly. Get a life!!! John Bennett...1 January 2003

We purchased a Philips TV and Video from Comet Store
in Tamworth plus we were advised to take out the Service
contract for extra 4 years, at a cost of £169.99 for TV and £69.99
for Video.
Recently the children have stood on the top of the remote control and
whilst it still works it is looking a bit worse for ware. We took it to
our local store as told by the service agent, who then said would have
to return it to the said agent for repair. When I asked what I have to
do in the mean time as my TV is solely controlled fro DVD, Satelite and
Video via the EX1 and EX2 via the remote, they said 'sorry we can offer
no replacement for the time the item was being repaired'. (May I add at
this time that a comment about never seeing a repaired item being returned
but always replacement being made by someone in the Comet Store).
As I feel that this is a very poor customer relations situation I would
appreciate your advice. TV Model 28PW6332C replacement controller £22.27
delivered via another supplier is this really to much for such a large
supplier to replace with the shops advice that the item is not repairable.

I actually work for a comet competitor and
was overly amused when i bought a digital receiver from them to be told
that i had to buy this monster scart otherwise the set would not work.
Lo and behold the scart cable that came with the set was actually faulty
! lol.
The thing is this - Scart cable come in many guises some are composite
and use one pin to send three colours down ie the chepa ones from the
market , dont touch there , most however are full 21 pin and work just
fine, considering a high quality audio buff 30 quid scart would be ok
but for the fact that digital boxes are of low quality and hammered out
in the thousands so even the best scart in the world wouldnt improve the
quality , unless im sorely mistaken neither B&O or BOSE make digital
receivers yet ?

Surely if your child stood on the remote
and it is damaged it is
your responsibilty, not the retailers for keeping control of you children???

The woman with the remote control really
should control her children - Comet can't be held responsible for her
child care - and shouldn't be held for judgement for her failings.

I would like to emphasise the previous comments
on the monster cables, all the sales person was doing from
what i can see was making sure that you didnt get home, and not be able
to use it!! good customer service i think, if he hadnt offered it, you
would be pi**ed off because you cant use it.
Also the lady with the remote, did you actually think before you wrote
that, why would the store just have random remotes in stock, if you think
of how many tv's you see on display, it would be impossible to have a
spare or loan for them all, also by saying that £22 isn't much for
a big company to fork out, if you think of how many children have broken
remotes in the past, the £22's soon add up, im sure that i wouldnt
start giving money out left right and centre, its got to come from somewhere!!!
if i worked for that company i would be disgusted to hear such complaints!!!!

Hello I work for comet, and i get this all
the time, now this is how it goes, any scart lead will
be fine for any telly, digy box etc, but as it was said you get what you
pay for, for instance don't you think there is a differnece in the cable
that is £5 and the one that is £60? There is and its huge
and you will notice it. However comet staff are wrong in the WAY they
sell it, but whats the point of going to comet to spend £1000 on
a tv package (get the best TV and dvd u can buy) when if you use the leads
they give away in the box gives you a rubbish picture what would be the
point of buying the telly?)
They give the leads away for a reason because they are cheap. Same goes
for the digy box, what's the point of buying a digy box that gives you
a digital signal when if you use the £5 scart your get a rubbish
picture? and for those who think monster is rubbish, do or have you ever
used monster cable? if so what did you use it on? Anon (if they
find out im scaked) ... 27 July 2003

I also work for Comet, monster cables
are offered due to the fact that scart cables that come with the product
are of a very low grade quality. Monster products use gold connectors
and also have a lifetime guarantee. Get what you pay for. Mike
