I bought a loose diamond from Auction World with an guide price of £7480. 2 local diamond merchants said it had a retail value of about £1000. that's what I paid for it. Needless to say it went back. The operator who I spoke to said that they had a lot of these returned. Dave Watkins ... 6 January 2004

I purchased a 1.05 carat diamond ring in 18ct white gold on the 13th May,the money was deducted from my credit card account the very next day !They were supposed to send me a ring sizer within two days so they could ensure delivery within the 28 day notice. It is now 27 days and i have not even had my ring sizer!
I have tried that so called 'customer services' number approximately 20 times a day,it is always engaged.I have e-mailed them twice and have not had a reply,I have faxed them and the fax report came back 'unable to send, line busy'.Today I actually got through to their phone and was put in a queue for minutes on end, then told to hold as my call was 'valuable',then automatically disconnected !I am Bloody furious that they think they can treat people this way, they have £1100 pounds of my money and I want hte goods or my money back, fast. I ordered a signed Thierry Henry Football Boot for my 7yr old son as he is a fan of the player and the team. I thought it would make a great birthday presnt for him.His birthday was 5 June 04.Unfortunatley the boot never turned up and dispite my continual phoning it is always engaged.Thy debited my visa credit card account nearly 3wks ago and they said on the return phone call that the goods would be with me in 5 days. How wrong can some one be.I would rather stick to Bid-up tv or Price-drop tv than use this shower of cowboys again. It was hard for me to tell my son that the boot was not here for his birthday and he was very upset and still is. I bought a gold chain from Auction-world.tv on the
18th December 2002. I paid for the goods and I was guaranteed
delivery before Christmas. The delivery guarantee was clearly shown on
the television screen and was confirmed by the operator I spoke to on
the day.
The chain did not arrive and my wife had no Christmas present. I called
the company after Christmas to ask what had happened to my purchase. After
waiting 10 minutes on hold an operator finally answered. I explained and
then she went off to try to find out what had happened. After a further
10 minutes she returned to me and told me it was the carriers fault and
she would look into it and call me back.
I waited for a reply for 4 days and by this time I was getting frustrated.
I e:mailed the company to seek some contact. Still nothing.. I waited
a few more days and then I wrote to the company giving details of all
my problems and the fact that I still had no gold chain.
To this date I have no responce from the company. The chain arrived on
January the 8th some 20 days after paying for it and was delivered by
UPS.
I expect some contact from this so called company! If I still hear nothing,
I will continue to publish my concerns and seek to expose the company's
customer care system or lack of it, for what it is.

I purchased the Tredex Tx-3050 DVD player on 01/01/2003.
Auction World were quick to take the money, £97, which left my bank
account on 03/01/2003. It is now 19/01/2003 and I have not received my
DVD player. Although the adverts on TV say that goods should be with us
in 4-6 working days, when you order they actually tell you it will take
5-14 working days. Why the lie?
Although I have not yet contacted Auction World re non receipt of my DVD
player, I intend to call them tomorrow and I will keep you posted as to
my progress. I only wish I had seen this site before ordering. I would
have thought twice! Penny Thompson....19 January 2003

I bid for a Tredex DVD Player at the end of December

No one came. I have been promised by EMMA taht it would be picked up this

I had problem with Auction world . tv,
it took 12 weeks to get a refund for a broken lapis framed map of the
world. Every time i phoned customer services they said they were e mialing
there head office .But the customer can't get in touch with head office
to complain .The best thing to do is to send a letter to the MD
by recorded delivery so you no that someone at the other end has to sign
for it. I told him if i dont receive a full £207 refund
inc, postage within 7 days i will take legal action with "Which".

and most recently i have a yellow jasper globe that will not turn as it
is too tight. I also have had nothing with the globes to show what stone

I have purchased two mini globes from Auction
World. On their delivery which I must admit was within
seven working days I have found that Great Britain is not on either globes.
Do we not exist. Again am I entitled to have my money back as I want these
as educational purposes for my two grandchildren and as such I think its
important that the place of their birth and their nationality is not even
on the globe.
On contacting Auction World the recipient of my telephone call could do
nothing but laugh!! He maintains that it must be a manufacturing error
if both globes omit to show United Kingdom. Am I entitled to my money
back???

world TV with a full description of the problems i had
with it (USB port failure). Unfortunately the details I gave them were
of the DVD player bought at the same channel, in the same month. After

and they had no trace of me sending it back! This was a christmas present

had the guide price of 1995 pounds. Which is available to trade for 233
pounds. Some difference. A second Globe appeared and after phoning and
informing of this and waiting for someone to call me back and gave in
and phoned them back and the attitude of the staff sucked to say the least.
In the end informed them that the globe was sitting out side the front
door waiting. I would never buy any object from the Auction world again.

I have bid on auction world and generally been happy
but i would say one thing. I would not have bid for an
aston gerard watch had i realised at the time that Auction World almost
certainly inflate the price (as does AG's website)(plus, I bought mine
before Xmas and it was offered at a much lower start price after Xmas
and ever since then) since I have read on a watch collectors' page that
these watches can be bought in job lots very cheaply.
I have never bought a globe but if you put "Gemstone globe"
into a search engine, lots come up. Apparently there are 3 grades of globe
and the "gemstone" (the kind sold by the auction channels) is
the lowest quality of the three. Even the very highest quality globe does
not sell for anything like the prices quoted by both auction channels
for the lower quality ones which they sell and the best quality mother
of pearl globe was only in the £600s. The TV kind can be bought
for comparable money that they are sold for by the auction channels or
less. Helen Goodwin ... 12 August 2003

I too ordered a Tridex dvd player last year.
After a couple of weeks I started on the long task of phone calls only
to be told there was a hold up on delivery fron the US and after months
of emails, faxes and more phone calls we eventually gave up. We have never
rec'd the dvd player. I would like to point out that they took the money
from my credit card the next working day ! I have also written to the
Watchdog programme on BBC and would urge more people to do so. Even if
we never see our money again at least we can try to stop other people
being conned and hopefully stop them broadcasting!!

I have bought a globe from the above company
on Friday 19th July 2002. I am still awaiting delivery

The call centre can not give me any update on the item I have bought so
its like talking to a brick wall.
