I am writing to complain about aol
charged me $145.08 in the case that i have not used.
Last january 2003 i made a call informing them that my
free trial is expiring but instead told me that i will continue
using it because they are still giving me a two months free which
last on march 26. But what happened was they charged me for $145.08
feb.-march billing. It bothers me so much.pls make an action to
this.
I am just a plain housewife with a baby. And it is a big lost

It is pathetic how simple functions become
an ordeal in many websites, AOL included. All
I want to do is give you a new c.c. number because my account
number has changed. Why there is not a clearly defined button
on your home page for billing matters like that, is beyond me.

I can relate to you anger. I
too have been having billing problems with aol. I was charged
for an service, when i was still in the free trial period. I was
also charged for a credit report that i did not order , and did
not receive, and at both times it caused an insuffient fund fee
from my checking account. I eventually got my refund, but as for
the for the fee that they caused, i was told that they would refund
it but they never did, even after i did all the faxing and calling
i was still ignored. It has been 5 months and still no results.

In Dec 2002 I cancelled due to financial difficulties....
The rep that I spoke to told me he wanted to give me two months
free...just to go and download the newest version, I told him
that I don't care about 2 mo free, cancel my account. I just checked
with my bank and AOL has billed me for the past 3 mo. I am so
mad... I just called them to get a refund and to ask why they
did not in fact cancel my account... It's not that I was unhappy
with AOL, in fact I had a great time Surfing, but at the rate

the account which was 3 years ago...I'm going to call them back

I have had either AOL dial up or broad band
for over 6 years now. I have my payments automatically
deducted by debit card every month $23.90. In December of last
year I was told by AOL that for some reason I had to switch over
to paying by check and start using a new screen name. But after
one month I could change back. I did as I was told and I just
now (April, 27, 2003) found out that I have been charged every
month $28.90 for two accounts coming out of my checking account,
even though I had changed back to my debit card in January!! I
have been overcharged by $169.50 this whole time!! The lady I
spoke to was pretty nice at AOL however, my only remedy was to
have the next two months prepaid by them. This only turns out
to be a total of $47.80. The only thing I have to say is MSN here

Seven months ago we canceled AOL. They
have been collecting monthly on our credit card for seven months.
We called them and had the service rep's name and the confirmation
number amd we even had the time that we canceled. and they said
we canceled and signed up again five minutes later. They told
us we still had AOL in our computer. We don't have AOL in our
computer. We called and canceled our credit card. The bank told

Sounds like we're having the same
problems. AOL will never get any more service
from me or my friends. They seem to be a scam. They have pissed
me off. The charges that they have charged me...and mind you they
were supposed to cancel my account months before, charged a chain
reaction totaling over $120 in NSF charges to my "poor little"
checking account, and they seem to be playing dumb. No one can
refund me anything!! Believe me I am very pissed. Calling and
waiting for someone...then get the damn' run around. Very pissed
is the understatment of the year!! I'm defintely not finished
with AOL!

My name is Amanda McGregor and I have not
had AOL since Nov. of 2002. I cancelled it before
my free trial was up. Now since March, you people have been taking
monies from my checking acct. twice a month. This is absurd. I'm
seriously thinking of filing a law suit for unauthorized debits

and I called the bank and i have an itemized list of every payment
you took out of my acct. For this reason I must close this acct.
And open a new one. You people have no right to go into someone's
acct. And take whatever you feel like. I am going to the bank

a low rate of payment since February of 2003 and I had not see
that low rate yet. Every time I try to contact them, they go around
telling me that they cannot find me in the system, but when is

I have the same problem. I
installed AOL and it always messed up my computer, so I called
to cancel. The man wouldn't do it the first time, so I called
again at a later time and the woman canceled the account. About
a month or 2 later, I recieved a bill for $72, and they are telling
me they're going to report me for not paying. Why should I pay

if the pop-ups don't stop soon. I will stop using
AOL. This is beyond me that AOL will let one company worry the
HELL out of us trying to sell us something to stop pop-ups. Other

My Sears credit card, and American
Express credit card are both being charged for AOL services each
month... So I am paying double, and our Aol American
Express Account was over charged in April, of $47.80, and my Sears
account was charged twice. In April you charged the Sears card
twice as well. Could you please credit my accounts immediately,
and only charge my American Express once a month for services,

I called AOL in Feruary re: two accounts
(one authorized and the other fraudulently connected) for
which I was billed and charged. I was billed in April and May,
even after their own letter to me confirming my request for termination.
In trying to contact billing, I have endured call-waiting periods
of fifteen to twenty-five minutes, disconnections, and multiple
operator transfers. Representatives were rude and blamed me for
their own failure to disable both accounts.
Representatives refused to disclose names and addresses of billing
managers or agents. Representatives told me that there was no
process for disputing a bill, filing a complaint formally. Please
help!

is the one who set up the account but its alright for them to

no longer could log on so I got online and had it fixed. Well

I have also had a similar experience with
using AOL. On Dec. 26, 2003 I called and cancelled
my AOL subsription. The helper I talked to said ok and he cancelled
it. On March 19, 2003 AOL took 28.90 out of my checking acct.
which also made me have and insuffiencet fund of 32.00. I called
again and complained and they said I agreed to something. They
gave me the address to the billing department and I wrote them
a letter. Then on April 21, 2003 they took another 28.90 out of
my acct. and another NSF of 32.00. They are now up to owing me

I need aol to investigate fraud billing
by unknown source who claim to be aol rep. They
Send me a billing letter want me to pay $23.09 to them, the payment
that i always pay every month through americanexpress. Last time
i contact aol billing department and they found nothing wrong
with my account. But i still received a dmeand for payment from
aol address as
Gpo po box 29593 new york, ny 10087-9593, and they have my account
number as: 0823135347. Please find out what going on with this

I have been trying to disconnect aol 7 for
the past two months. ihave phoned and e-mailed
twice.i was promised a free months aol but when my bill came through
i had to pay as usual.as far as i know aol8 is a free trial and
i am still paying for aol7 even though i am not using it.i hope
you can clear this up as it is the third time in three months
i will have been promised a free month for my inconvieniance.if
it is not sorted out quickly i will take my custom to a new server.

I signed up for e-mail when I first got
my aol internet service, and they charged 28.90
to my checking account three months later, which also caused my
account to bounce costing me another 29.99. They would not credit
my account, and they were full of excuses. They had no authorization
to my account, and I was charged for a seperate internet service

01 May 2003 I telephoned AOL. speaking to
one of AOL's employees, I requested to discontinue my AOL service.
When deductions were STILL taken from my account, numerous
times I wrote to AOL's "contact us." I am appauled that
the sum of $28.90 is STILL being withdrawn, by AOL, from my checking
account using the Visa card number I supplied them with in October
2002. I am noticing on yesterdays bank document that on 6/10/03-
$28.90 was withdrawn...6/23/03 yet ANOTHER $28.90 withdrawn. I
was "deleted" by AOL on 30 May and have not returned
to even read the "SPAM" emails, yet I am continueously
being "milked" by AOL for their blasted $28.90 fee...$57.80
in LESS than TWO WEEKS!
The FIRST notification of cancellation attempt to AOL was the
first of May 2003. On 12 May, AOL billed me $28.90 that is when
I retreived AOL's telephone number off one of their "free
trial" discs and called one of AOL's employees, who assured
me "cancellation" would not be a "problem,"
sure NOT for AOL, for ME! Those deductions towards my account
were and are STILL being deducted. Why is AOL so "dishonest"
and "greedy" that they feel the need to continueously
"fill their pockets" with my small widows pension? PRONTO-like,I
wish a refund of $86.70 from 5/01/03 thru 6/23/03 for the AOL
services I NEVER used. Should these deductions continue I shall
be forced to turn it over to my attorney. Thanking you in advance
for whatever can be done to re-deposit what was illegally withdrawn
from my account.

I have used the AOL narrow band
service since last October, which would charge me 15 pounds a
month. They advertised like that. That’s
the reason why I chose their service. I totally believed that.
Until last April, I used their internet service quite well, but
I was astonished when I found that they charged me 123.51 pounds.
When I called AOL billing department, one of staff there said
I have changed my price plan from a flat price plan into a ‘pay
as you go’ price plan and the change affected the bill.
I couldn’t understand that, because I didn’t change
the price plan at all. We argued for a hour. He just repeated
that I changed my price plan, and I disputed it. Actually I obviously
didn’t know that they have several billing options. I just
had their advertisement in mind that ‘ you can connect internet
with just 15 pounds a month.’ We went through on the parallel
line.
Anyway he finally refused to pay my money back, and instead he
suggested that he would give me a free connection for 5 months,
which costs me just 75 pounds. I couldn’t accept that, because
it was much less than I should get refund. His point was that
I used AOL under the ‘pay as you go’ price plan before
I returned to the flat rate price plan and I should be responsible
for that. Even if I couldn’t understand that, I just accepted
that proposal due to approaching exam. I thought it would completely
erase my nightmare. That was my illusion.
I have got the credit card billing with 103 pounds again. I was
really upset with that. I complained again. The other staff explained
that the billing this month was calculated under the high rate
price again, because the date before I have called them should
be charged under the ‘pay as you go’ price plan. Obviously,
the former staff told me what he can do offer me is that the free
connection for five month due to the charge I am responsible for
after the change of the price plan. He said he would erase the
charge for me and offered me the free connection of the compensation
for the money I have already paid.
However I have got the enormous billing again. How can I do for
getting refund? I cannot erase the feeling that I have been burgled.

to cancel my contract with them and yet on my
most recent credit card statement I have been charged for their
services which I no longer use. I deleted all of their software
from my computer over a month ago (which was no mean feat) and
have not used their service as I now have a new provider. Now

any employee at AOL. They refuse to give anything
other than their first name. I tried to complain to a supervisor
and he said he would not tell me who he was or proived any employee
number or means of I.D. His name was John, and he said thats all
he could tell me. How do I find the name of the President of AOL

I would like to complain about what is coming
on the AOL opening page.Welcome!
You are allowing sexual things to come on to draw the young and
probably those weak older clients. I have used AOL since getting
a computer and do not want to close our account however if these
things continue to come where anyone at anyage can click on it.

I am writing to complain
about AOL. They took money out
of my checking account without permission. A reoresentative told
me that I was in my last month of AOL rewards until August 14,
2003. Thus fourth reward was been used up. However they billed
me and took the oney out of my checking account regardless. Now
my account is going to be short for another bill comming in on
Monday July 21, 2003. AOL supervisor supposededly J.T. 055565
thought my situation was funny. JT gave me the address to customer
complaints but made it clear that AOL would back up AOL's bad
business of stealing money out of customer's accounts! AOL has
a bad reputation with me. I will make sure everyone I know learns
of their inferior business practice. $28.00 a month billed to

NO. THEN I CALLED THE BILLING DEPT., THEY TRIED TO C0N- VINCE
ME THAT I SWITCHED TYPES OF ACCTS. THAT IS JUST PLAIN STUPID.
ANYWAY, YOU CANNOT TALK TO ANYONE IN MANAGEMENT AT AOL, JUST CANNOT
BE DONE. ALL YOU GET IS PEOPLE WORKING OUT OF THEIR HOME WITH
MANUALS TO TELL YOU THE PROTOCOL. I AM QUUITING AOL, 7 FRIENDS

had been charged twice and some of them once and I have complained

Before Feb. I requested to end the online
service with America Online. Each time at the
request you are hyped up by salespersons to take a couple of free
months in order to keep with them. At my request I agreed to........but
was charged a fee later that month of over $150.00. I went ahead
and paid it anyway because I didn't want to deal with the 20 ->
30 min waiting to respond to someone else and so it wouldn't be
on my credit. When I finally decided I had enough of their service.....I
called to cancel again. I asked for my balance as well as told
the young man about cancelling the service. He said it would be
cancelled at the end of the month and he asked be about my present
service inwhich I told him it was cable/dsl. He told me about
the service aol offered and I told him I didn't want it, but I
would like to know more about it. He said he could send me info
as well as get me connected. I said I only wanted to know about
the service as it was cheaper t hen my current service. He sent
me an email but I never accepted anything. I didn't request service
but I have been charged $150.76 for a service I didn't use. I
don't believe that I should have to pay for something I didn't

I am not writing to complain.
I like AOL service. But at one point I needed DSL services and
AOL was not offering it. I subscribed to another server. Then
all of a sudden I started getting loads of hard pornographic spam.
My personal guess is that the quarrel between two giants is affecting
the consumer. I am canceling my aol account, but do not know where
to do so. I don't want a cat and mouse game. I just want to cancel

Sir Iam so upset with the way you
people handle your costumers I have tryed every
way possible this morning to cancal a program called Wallet I
have made many many phone calls this morning and tryed to get
in touch throw keyword Wallet and for the most part this has been
impossible!! There has to be a better way to handle your costumers

My complaint is not with billing but soon
will be. aol terminated my account as they said
I was being disruptive and and some of my post were offensive.
On several ocasions I asked for copies of some post on message
boards so that my solicitor could deal with the abuse I was receiving
aol said on the phone to me the dont keep copies. They do keep
copies. This week a host posted a very offensive and disgusting
comment related to a part of the female anatomy. the message is
still there despite me reporting it. what aol did was to stop
me reporting any violations. I attempted to report this several
times on my screen name but it kept saying it wasnt received try
again later. instead I logged on under another name and the reprt
went straigut through. Sadly aol have allowed the host offensive
post to remain. It seems that to them the disgusting comment is
ok. Aol are nothing but bullies. They bullied me on the phone
and were so rude that by the end of it all
I was on anti depressants. they know I have a 12 month contract
with them that doesnt run out until april 2004 and are using that
against me. Aol stinks, and now i only use it log on to the net
I then shrink the aol screen and use IE to surf, play games etc.
Aol have abused me made me ill and allowed 6 months of abusive
instant messages, harassing post and disgusting emails sent to
me by one screen name to continue then have the nerve to terminate
my account. the only family I see aol as being family orientated

I cancelled AOL in ?March 2003 payment
for April and May was not taken and I thought
things were OK as I changed server in Feb. to NTL. However, AOL
has taken payment for June and July I want this money returned
to my account and finally cancel AOL payments from my credit card

My complaint is as follows.
I was connected AOL BROADBAND from the 25th June - 9th July 2003.
Then for some reason it was cut off. I am now have been informed
by BT the area that I live in is not set up for broadband. Yet
a friend who lives approx 50 yds from me, when I checked her phone
number it was excetable for broadband. What I would like know
are BT telling me lies, or just can't be bothered sorting out
my telephone line. The mystery is how was I connected to broadband
in the first place?

My opinion is that AOL is not a customer
is priority company. I have had a bad exsperience
with AOL. Acustomer service attendent had asked me if I wanted
to order a computer that they were having a special on computers.
I had told the lady that I could not order the computer without
talking to my husband about it. The next day I went out to get
my mail and under my front patio was this huge box. When I looked
at the mailing address I noticed it said from AOL. It was the
computer that I didnot order. The employee had sent the computer
anyway. That was two months ago and I have talked to eleven different
people trying to get this matter taken care of. No one seems know
what to do but deduct $54 from my bank account for a computer
I sent back to the company the verry next day thru UPS. They tell
you they will have their trainer call you but no one ever does.
they refuse to tell me who the lady is that lied to me and sent
the computer anyway. I hope that this does not happen to anyone
else. Be careful what they tell you on the phone. Also be careful

I have requested a refund from my account

that AOL terminate my account, and instead AOL gives me a couple
more months Free. I still have a free month left, and I requested
a refund of $28.90 that they charged my card. And AOL refused
to give me my money back even with a remaining free month left.
Instead they tried to give me 3 month free. I do not want their
service anymore, and they will not give me a refund. Is there

3 months after I canceled my AOL account,
I have discovered that they are still bill into my credit card.
I called AOL, and they told me that I have 2 different accounts,
and I had only closed one....I end of paying them for addtional
4 months bill because of the billing cycle. The representatives
are rude, and no response to my written request and complaints

Today, I attempted to install AOL Broadband
. Myfirst results werenot to gain anythingin the
area of knowledge by inserting the Broadband Installation CD-ROM
into my computers CD ROM Drive and to follow the on screen guide
for step by step instructions. The first instruction informed
me that mycomputer does not have enough spaceto use AOL forBroadband.
Why wasI not told this prior to ordering this? Who do I return
the DSLStartup kit to andhow do I arrange to completely cancel
any association withAOL and its systems.I would try to talk to
someone on the phone to sound mydis-satifactions,however, AOL
