Wrote detailed letter to Hull complaining regarding fridge freezer,
breaking down. Not viable for repair made three telephone calls
with no sucess, given unsensible answers.
No help or assistance given, 2nd detailed letter sent, reply received
by partner at home address Gorleston U.K. again nobody bothering
about re-solving situation. No replies to my 2 letters sent JULY
2003.
Just told go out and buy new, do you expect an appliance to last
longer than a couple of years, my answer is yes. Told we live
in throwaway society so just get rid of it and buy new. Mothers
fridge freezer ten years old still functioning perfectly. Await
RESPONSE PLSE.

=================================
Fridge freezers are less reliable
now. CFCs are no longer used so the machines have
to be more complex and are therefore more likely to go wrong. The
newer cocktail of gases takes compressors etc
If you get a few years out of a new one (especially frost free)
then that's average. Outside of the manufacterer's one year warranty
there is nothing you can do unless you can prove there was a fault
from the start. After the year has ended you are no longer "contracted"
with comet and therefore comet can not be expected to be accountable

aaaargh!!!!! ive just bought a dishwasher
from comet - lots of fun to look forward to by the
sound of it - where can you go , if you dont drive and only have
access to the big 3 - comet, currys and dixons... i donrt have confidence
to make such big purchases online, or from places i havent heard
of. i managed to avoid the stores extended warranty, which rsulted
in a frosty and sarcastic response from the young go-getting salesboy!
