I was sorry to note your dissatisfaction
and I very much
regret the
circumstances that prompted you to contact us.
Irrespective of the
manufacturer,
products do require some attention
during their lifetime
and it is
impossible to determine when or how soon maintenance will be
required.

It is
for this reason
all the goods we sell are covered by a
manufacturers guarantee, which
is a sufficient
period of time
for any
defects to show
and be repaired free of charge.

All our customers
are given two opportunities to
extend the
guarantee for up to four years
after the initial guarantee has
expired.

Any repairs needed to a
product that is
not subject to a guarantee will be chargeable.

As your VCR has worked satisfactorily
for a minimum of 12 months, it cannot be deemed to be of unsatisfactory quality and
I regret I am
unable to agree
to your request to arrange a free of charge repair.

If, however, you
feel it is unfair
that you should
pay for the repair,
you can ask for
a claim form
from our service department giving
your reasons once
the repair has
been completed and paid for.

Once you have
completed this and it is returned to the Service Manager, he will then make a decision and
a member of our service team will contact you to
advise you of the outcome.

A refund cannot be
guaranteed before
the repair is completed. Although
I can certainly understand your annoyance
in this matter,
I am confident that upon completing the claim form, a
fair judgement
will be made.

This will depend on the diagnosis
made by
the engineer and
the parts needed to rectify the fault. This will have to be done by a Comet service engineer.
