Bought Niklas Shelving unit on 22.10.01. We found parts missing from one of the
sides. Phoned IKEA customer services on 23.10.01. Were told missing parts would be
put in post and should arrive Thursday 25.10.01.

By Saturday 27th parts hadn't arrived so phoned IKEA again and was told it took 72 hours for customer services to send e-mails to the store and for them to be subsequently read so we shouldn't expect
parts to arrive until the following Tuesday (30th) at the earliest. When parts hadn't arrived by Thursday 1st I rang again and was told they would chase them up.

I received a call from the Croydon store on Saturday 2nd asking for my postcode and to say the
parts would be with me by Tuesday 6th. Still waiting so rang again today (Saturday
10th). Customer services found the store has 44 of the item in stock and could send them
out immediately so why on earth has it now taken at least 3 weeks to send them out?

For what it's worth, my advice to anyone buying from IKEA is to unpack every box and
check parts are enclosed before leaving the store.
