re: PHILIPS T.V. - 32PW9527
It is with regret and total frustration that this letter has been
addressed to yourselves.
After countless and numerous phone calls I still have had no joy
with the TV which I purchased from yourselves, in good faith, on
17th November 2002. The TV is faulty, as confirmed by your engineer,
the tube is going. Considering this is not the first fault from
the above order number. Firstly the Philips DVD went faulty and
had to be replaced and now the TV. It would appear that there is
a problem with PHILIPS products as it is very unusual for a customer
to have two faulty products bought at the same time.
Now to my point, like I said this TV was purchased from your company
for the simple reason that Philips is a renowned make and in good
faith from your company as we expected good guarantee and satisfaction
with customers. It seems I was wrong on both the above points. This
TV was bought for the whole family to enjoy Christmas and to follow
the Cricket World Cup which only happens every four years (if this
was from a customer who was a Football fanatic he or she would have
been treated with the utmost and I say again utmost urgency!!!).
I have followed your instructions to the letter by calliing in a
technician who took one look at the TV screen and said the "the
tube was faulty". He then announced that they would take the
TV away for TWO (2) to THREE (3) weeks, just to see if it was worth
repairing or not, and if I had any complaints to take it up with
the Store (Comet - Milton Keynes). At the store I spoke to the Customer
Service Manager who was, short and of no help a
t all, so I took it upon myself to spent the next four (4) hours
phoning various departments of Philips and Comet.
After all this time wasted I am still no better off as no one including
Directors has the gumption to make a decision to replace this set.
I am now being penalised for trusting both Comet and Philips and
will miss the entire World Cup due to something beyond my control
thanks to Comets inefficency.
I trust you will look into this with the utmost urgency and get
back to me with your comments on the aforesaid comments on 07740XXXXXX
should you wish to resolve this matter.
