1. Delivery 16/03/02 Delivery was short by two items we
were not informed prior to delivery, damaged work top.
2. Measurements of kitchen conducted by Wickes representative
were 300mm short, the kitchen could not be installed as per design,
the sink was off centre, fridge could not be installed as per
plan.
3. An offer was made to supply a wine rack free of charge.
4. Delivery 21/02/03 an arrangement was made with the distribution
for the driver to call approx. 20 mins before arrival at our home
address as my wife was at work. My Wife received a call to say
that the driver was outside our home not as arranged. He
also mentioned that the work top was damaged prior to loading.
It was abundantly clear the kitchen fitter needed the work top
to continue. My Wife rejected the delivery.
5. I telephoned the Crewe store to sort the problem out, I was
also astonished to learn the same work top was being sold in FOCUS
for £40, whereas I paid £69.99 from Wickes. I am totally
confused as to why a product is almost double the price between
the two companies. There is no reasonable explanation. Crewe store
did go to Stoke Focus store and collect 2 worktops to replace
the damaged one at no extra cost.
6. We are still awaiting delivery of the Wine Rack and the Corner
Post conversion kit.
7. An Offer has been made by the Crewe Store of £75 of products
in store or £50 Cash, I find this offer totally unacceptable
against the sequence of events. It should also be pointed that
the Wickes representative failed to tell me that I would have
to have two electric sockets re-positioned and a number of Copper
Pipes.
After this delivery I still require some additional Wall units,
Base Unit and New Bathroom suite, however the appalling service
from Wickes does indicate to me that I should look elsewhere.
I am still amazed over the price differentials.
To summarise the total service from Wickes has been extremely
disappointing and the offer of £75 off in store goods is
not acceptable
