I was looking for a PC for my daughter and was offered a E Machines
370 for £599 by Nathan but as I didnt require a monitor
I was told I could have it for £490 a deduction of £109
for the monitor which I accepted.
On returning home I checked the PC world website to find the same
PC for £599 with monitor, printer, camera, scanner and USB
lead. I telephoned customer services who advised me if I wished
to return to the shop (Truro)I could pay the difference £109
and recieve the full package. If i had been made aware of this
I would have done this in the first place. On returning to the
shop I was refused as this offer was not on their system.
On returning home I telephoned customer services again and a helpful
lady contacted the Truro branch manager as she said they had all
the additional items in stock, but he refused to honour the offer.
I was then advised if I returned the pc to Truro they would credit
me for the Pc and I could then go to the Plymouth branch (80mls
round tri
p)and purchase the same with the additional items for £599.
PC world customer services could not explain why Truro would not
do this but they said the Managers decision was final. Surely
PC world is PC world why are managers decisions different. The
original excuse was that this price was a Web only offer yet Customer
Services admitted the Plymouth branch had 15 of the packages on
the premises avialiable to purchase.
I didnt have time to travel to the Plymouth branch but still can't
understand why the Truro branch could not duplicate the same offer.
I wish I had checked the Website first but I didnt expect these
variations within the same Company
