The following 7 items are outstanding and we require these to be addressed by close of business today. (7 May 2002)

1. 2 doors have dents in them
2. The open drawer carcase has a dent, this is in keeping with one of the dents in the door and looks like something has been dropped or rammed into it, possible the kick plates.
3. The replacement and repositioning of the drawer units and handles so they are central.
4. The replacement and repositioning of the decorative edging on the open shelving/drawer carcases, please note that in at least one case these have been glued to the carcase.

We saw an advert for Kitchens Direct and had them round for a quote.

They came back with a figure of £7,500 after going through a laborious 3 hour chat about their company, how wonderful their products are etc. We decided to go ahead. The surveyor came round and spent another 3 hours surveying and drawing up his plans. Several days later the new kitchen arrived which had to be stored in our conservatory and paid for in full! Two weeks later after being driven mad by banging toes etc on the kitchen furniture, the fitters turned up to completely gut the old kitchen, strip the walls of tiles and plaster. Add new electrical points and lay a gas pipe for the new range. Well firstly, the walls were so badly plastered that another fitter Mr W had to redo it himself. The electrical points were not done correctly and the gas pipe hadn't been laid. Mr W arranged for that himself at the extra expense of Kitchens Direct. Whilst Mr W did an excellent job on our kitchen, It most certainly didn't take 3 days as promised, but in fact 2 1/2 weeks. Mr W would arrive at 9am and leave most nights at 9pm! All Mr W could do was slag off KD/Moben and Dolphin.

There were several problems when he came to fit our kitchen, the surveyor didn't bother to do proper checks so Mr W had to make more alterations. Cupboard doors were delivered either too small, to big, damaged etc.

Do not use these people. There was a site called Cunsumer Comments UK which seems to have disappeared and there were thousands of complaints about Kitchens Direct! Martin Bicthen ... 3 September 2003

Im glad to have come across this site after a sales man (very polite) from Kitchens Direct gave us a quote that we thought was reasonable. A day later we were phoned up by a different and quite pushy sales man.
After much deliberation we decided to go with them after a look at their web site to confirm what we'd bought. Imagine our surprise when this site came up above their actual site Scary.

So, weve decided to go with a B&Q kitchen and order our own appliances oh and another thing, we werent allowed to have a break down of what was included in the price. The only thing he told us was that the dishwasher was half price, reduced to a mere 599. We later found it for 525, not reduced.

Any way, if you want good appliances at competitive prices, try Biasco.com. Weve ordered (and received yesterday) 5 appliances from them. They were helpful and polite from the start, they arrived when they said they would and even the delivery men were cheerful (something they must put in their employees tea..?).
