Myself and my wife ordered a kitchen through Moben. The salesman came to our house on Sept 9th and spent 3 hours with us.We eventually agreed on our dream kitchen and set the ball rolling.

The surveyor was round our house the next week and drew up the plans for the fitters. All seemed ok up to this point ... how wrong can you be.This is when the problems started. Our kitchen was due to be fitted on Oct 28th but was cancelled at short notice by Moben. The installation would take place the next day.

The next day the "fitters" arrived on our doorstep. They were two Ukrainians called Igor & Vladimir. They had no idea whatsoever how to fit a kitchen. After working 5 12 hour days all they managed to achieve was assembling 3 base units and 3 worktops!

Our kitchen is small and we could not understand how it could take so long to do so little. They told us they were carpenters and did not really know about plumbing or electrics.

When we challenged them as to how much longer it would take their reply was that they may get it finished if they work till 2am and 11pm the next day. They also said that our kind of kitchen even though it is tiny could take maybe 2 to 3 weeks. At this point my patience snapped and I threw them out of our house. We have 2 boys aged 4 and 1 and had been left without drinking water and all our other facilities for a week.

After many calls the site manager came along with an inspector and 2 fitters. The inspector listed 13 faults but at least the fitters connected up our essential services which was a big relief.

After much complaining and threats we have been advised by Kay Baxter & Rizwan at Manchester that our half completed kitchen will be finished this Friday 8th November. We shall see.

Like most other people I have found the attitude of Moben disgusting. We have made in excess of 80 phone calls to them but your call is never ever returned. It is not up to the customer to do all the running around Moben it is down to you.

We have also had the wrong parts delivered on numerous occassions and when it has been the correct size it has been the wrong colour. We are now considering legal action to sue Moben for negligence and breach of contract. Totally incompetent and not worth all the hassle. They just want your money up front . Our advice to anyone wanting a new kitchen is to not even consider Moben and spread the word.

From David Blissett:
We have now heard from Moben and been offered compensation. It is unsatisfactory so we will be taking it further.

Also the underlighting in our lovely new kitchen blew. Moben came out today and fixed it but the fitter has condemned all the electrics. As if we havent been through enough we now have a health and safety inspector due to come out and check all the wiring.

This is a complete joke. If our kitchen is condemned as dangerous in this way I will personally drag Moben through the courts and sue for thousands!!!

From David Blissett: The warranty fitters have just finished all the outstanding problems in our kitchen. They had to change the worktops as they were not fitted probably and water had started to lift the surface plus other minor problems.

To cap it all the gas fitter knocked over a bottle of my finest liquer in our understairs cupboard. It smashed and most of it went over our carpet which is now stained.

We therEfore now require compensatation from Moben for our ruined carpet also plus a bit of courtesy by replacing the bottle.

From David Blissett:
Well we have finally just got our compensation from Moben.A computer generated cheque with a scraggy signature on it together with a compliment slip! I wonder if they will have the cheek to send us a customer satisfaction survey form? Our kitchen is now completed to our satisfaction but it was not worth all the hassle.I have spread the word around to everyone I know about this outfit that call themselves Moben.
