On the 6th of November I Ordered a Sony DiscMan (Product Code
SON-DEJ620L) from Empire Direct (Order Ref: 196XXX) By the 15th
November the Unit had not arrived (Even though in their online
information they quote that delivery should be 3-5 days)
I duly rang Empire Directs Customer Service team to enquire the
situation regarding the product. After Waiting on hold for 30
minutes i was told by the operator Sarjeet that i would have to
ring the sales team " Because she could find no record of
the order"
I then rang the sales team and spoke to a man who did not give
his name (even when asked) who abruptly told me that "they
had a back log and that they hadn't processed my order as yet"
when asked why i hadn't been informed and why there website was
still claiming that delivery was 3-5 days I was told that that
was nothing to do him!
I then questioned when i was likely to get the goods and was
told that "it (the order) might be put on in the next 4-5
days but he didn't know" At this point i asked if i could
speak to someone that whould be able to tell me and was told "if
i was too impatient to wait then i should just cancel the order"
At which point i did, however i asked for confirmation of this
and to date have not recieved any.
I write this to alert your readers to Empire's less than helpful
customer services team, and the incredibly poor service that i
have received. I would never shop with said e-tailer again
