I am very concerned over a text message my daughter has
recently received. I recently checked her nokia 3210 fone and
when checking her inbox I came across A very violent and rude
text message, only to find this message was sent using the internet
site www.uboot.com.
The message was very offensive and contained swear words. I have
tried to trace who the message was sent from as the user name
of the person who sent the message is stated at the bottom of
the text message (Hotstuff694). The only infomation I was able
to find was that the account used is owned by a 14 year old girl.
I think it is disgusting messages like this can be sent and are
not checked by the hosting company. I predict www.uboot.com will
not take any responsibilty but disgusting messages like this should
be able to be traced. No one should have to receive messages like
this and I am very worried for future messages which could be
sent
A genuine reason for parents to be concerned about
this trendy looking website service designed to attract the teenage
mobile user market.
It would be interesting indeed to find out what uboot is doing to
safeguard the young people against the dangers as outlined in this
complaint.
An email has been sent to uboot and a letter to the parent company
Universal Communication Platform Uk Ltd (UCP) for a response.

Hi,
just read the uboot complaint thing, I was disgusted as well, any
way I think they should track that users address and do something
about it. Uboot shouldn't get the blame for I think the user should.
I am a uboot user and if uboot get banned I will be very upset so
not uboot get the user.
Thank you

i am a uboot user and find the service great. why blame
uboot if an abusive message is received? do you blame the post office
if you get an abusive letter? no! i'm glad uboot respects my privacy
and let's me send what i want and it seems from their reply that
they will assist in tracing the sender should the police request
it.
if my mum saw half the text messages on my phone (which i was happy
to receive!) she would flip too! what parent can truly claim that
they didn't send & receive notes they wouldn't have wanted their
parents to see when they were younger? not many i'm sure
