As a seafarer, when called in UK port sent a registered insured
(£600)letter in 1996 the same was not delivered in India
as yet. Complaint lodged with the Indian Postal Authorities and
as well as the Royal Mail.
Royal Mail insisted for reverse entry verification and after the
investigation it was revealed to have not landed in India for
delivery, the insurance claim not paid to me as yet.
*I have evidence to prove that I have constantly chasing up with
the claim through letters, fax to Royal Mail and the Indian Postal
authorities but all of vain over and above with all the limiations
and constraints being a seafarer considering my mobility of the
profession which entails working out in the deep sea, on ocean
going foreign sailing run. Where have I received the justice to
this?
Since been to UK last year for study as a full time- student,
when pursued the matter, now the Post Watch states that I will
not be paid the due insurance claim amount of £600 which
was long overdue. Which is a betrayal to the public not paying
what was assured. As a matter of fact the organisation should
be pleased to pay the legitimate dues with reasonable interest
of the due amount.
Secondly, I had fed feedback in the Consignia Website separately
to the Royal mail and as well as to the Parcelforce feedback end,
of the poor inefficient working conditions, while the organisation
known to be running on loss but they do not have the courtesy
to even acknowledge for the suggestion given. It clearly indicates
such neglection is a true sign of Mis-management, not willing
to change but go in its old good fashion of theirs.
Thanks,
Chandran Peechulli.

What looks like an automated response giving a 'Response
number' and promising 'will be reviewed by one
of our advisors shortly'.
A second email on the same day with the same reference - and signed
by a human being this time, says...
'Your details have been passed on to your local Royal Mail
Customer Service Centre who are making enquiries for you and will
be in touch again once their
investigations are complete'
Don't hold your breath, but we will keep you posted on any further
contact from Royal Mail.

POSTWATCH, copied into our Right of Reply email to Royal Mail, has
responded. They clarify that they need to wait for RM's response
to the Customer's complaint. If, Mr Peechulli is then still unhappy,
he can contact POSTWATCH quoting a reference number they have given
in the letter. Details have been passed on to Mr Peechulli.

email to Royal mail by Mr Peechulli:

"Dear Madam, This is to thankfully acknowledge receipt
of your letter Ref:40732 dated the 6th January 2003.
Your letter to Mr.T.Wright of clik2complaints dated 2nd Dec.2002
on the same subject was bearing the reference 37609. Now the
reference cited is 40732. I now presume that this new reference
number is the superseded one and current, for my further quoting
reference. Kindly please do clarify and confirm.
Secondly,it is more important to state that the "Royal
Mail" had been on a snail's rate to come forward with
the needed clarity and transparency, for commitment of theirs
to their customers." |

This site is in no doubt serves as
a Forum, created a space where ideas and knowledge
can be shared learning from the aggrieved, giving an opportunity
for interactions, as to how to work out in such a betrayed situation.
A month has rolled off after the reaction from Post Watch with a
reply but the concerned authorities of Royal Mail continues to sit
cool, taking in a lighter vein similar to the past years,at the
cost of their customer, while everywhere customer is said first, herein
it is in the contrary probably because of the monopoly business.
Unless this Forum is empowered by the people, or the Government, the
situation is not going to change.
