I ordered a sofa and sideboard from Bo concept in Southampton late least year.
Delivery was quoted as 12 weeks. 12 weeks from order we received a 'phone call asking us to arrange a delivery date.

Two weeks later the parts arrived. The sideboard was damaged and didn't even make it off of the van. The sofa was offloaded and the delivery guys started to assemble it. There were only half the required number of legs, the colour of the arms and body didn't match and the wooden arm tops were missing.

I sent the whole lot back. After three letters and numerous 'phone calls Bo Concept arranged to have the missing parts made and supplied. Nine weeks later my wife waited at home for the delivery of our new sofa and sideboard. The van arrived with sideboard but no sofa. The delivery guys thought we still had the sofa...

Bo Concept had failed to order us a sofa with matching fabric, we now have to wait a further eight weeks and have been offered £1.33 a day compensation while we wait.
We paid for the goods on order, so Bo Concept have had over two thousand pounds of our money for nearly thirty weeks and we still have no sofa.

Take my advice and avoid this company like the plague. The idea that you can go to IKEA and actualy pick up and take home a sofa is something Bo Concept customers only dream about.

Synopsis:

10/11/2002 ordered soaf and sideboard, paid £2,400.
11/11/2002 money taken from our account.
28/01/2003 sofa and sideboard delivered, sideboard damaged, sofa arms and legs missing, fabric doesn't match.
29/01/2003 'phone call to michelle in customer services, I am refered to Dean in Bournemouth. Complaint explained to Dean, he doesn't believe me and checks with Michelle, then advises me to write to Mr Russell Morris.
30/01/2003 letter written to Mr Morris.
04/03/2003 letter received from Mr Morris offering compensation
06/03/2003 compensation accepted (though not yet received) and a new delivery date requested.
27/03/2003 another letter sent asking for a cheque and a delivery date.
09/04/2003 second aborted delivery. missing bits arrive, sofa doesn't. Sideboard delivered OK.
10/04/2003 'Phone calls to Dean, we find out no replacement sofa was ordered, just the missing bits. Dean doesn't believe us when we say the colours don't match and wants us to fax him a copy of the delivery note - where the original ended up we can only guess. If we require a new sofa then it will be eight weeks.

that's it up to now...
we wait, whilst sitting on the floor.

Update on 8 May 2003
Right of Reply response from Bo Concept - See above right. Apparently, a compensation cheque of £250 has been sent and A DELIVERY DATE?

Mr Bargery's Comments:
Well done clik2complaints.co.uk you got a despatch date in writing. Although
no delivery date. The cheque was for £220, not £250, a shade less than ten
per cent off of the original order price. It was received in an envelope
with a comps slip, no letter, no information or communication.

from Mr Bargery:
"The sofa didn't leave on the 16th as indicated in the letter. Apparently it left on the 23rd. Bo Concept have explained this by saying, and this IS a quote...'' 'I do apologise for this delay but unfortunately this is something that BoConcept cannot control.' " I feel that they should ammend the company name to NoConcept." Simon Bargery

"At last it is all over!!! We now have our No Concept sofa, safe and sound. I would like to say we are happy, but all we realy feel is a great sense of relief.
In the end we were compensated and got our furniture, but it was a hell of a job and there is no way we would ever go back. Simon and Toni Bargery"

SHOCKING !! In BO concepts favour, both my brother and I ordered over £7000 worth of furniture, all of it delivered perfectly and in good time. I hope your case in an exception rather than the norm.

After reading your comments I feel quite shocked that you had all these problems in regards to your order.
I myself have bought numerous items from Bo Concept and have been nothing but satisfied with the service and product, I can only summise your particular case was an isolated incident and I can honestly say I would reccomend Bo Concept to any consumer.
