We purchased a sink & tap pack from b&q ,hedge end, hants
on 26/12/01.
We didn't have it installed until feb 02 due to having a new kitchen
built.
Back in september 02 i noticed the tap was splitting down the
middle at the water outlet end.
I have telephoned the store 3 times in the past few months, to
be told that they were dealing with it and they would get back
to me. Alas i am still waiting for a reply from them.
I think the problem is that when i tell them it was installed
by the builder they are to tight to payout for a new tap installation.
I had a similar problem with a bathroom sink from focus do it
all.
They replaced the sink and paid for the installation without any
quibble. So why can't b&q do the same or at least have the
decency to let me know what is happening, being that they are
supposed to be the leader in diy.
The only people I have dealt with are the telephone operators.
The last one I spoke to said she would personally pass it on to
the store manager. Date last contacted was approximately 3 - 4
wks ago.
Can you help in any way as we have just over a month left on the
guarantee. Regards
mrs e. Horn

=================================
The firm was asked to refund our
kitchen after the damaged was fitted in , i noticed
it was damaged when the cupboards right end draw was starting to
hang if it wasn't shut. This made me very anxious , afer this the
firm said they will refund the kicthen when the repairman came he
denied all charges and said he wouldn't even bother fixing it again.
Wecomplained again this time threatening to sue. An apology letter
came, a week later saying the kitchen was fully fitted and the damaged
was caused by the tenants in the house refering to me and my wife.
I sent a letter back saying it was fitted in broken.

Dear Richard,
I had a similarly horrible and frustrating episode with IKEA. I
bought a sofa and within 3 months, it was falling apart, clearly
defective. They offered to replace it, but when they saw minor puppy
chewing damage, they refused to do anything. They blamed it all
on me and refused to even inspect the sofa. They always try to pawn
it off on the buyer. I fought with them for almost a year. Finally,
I sued them. I took them to small claims court and I won. Two weeks
later, I got my judgement check from them. My advice: Sue them if
you want any results!

RE: Mr R Owens I too am over
60 ! and hold a B&Q Diamond Discount card i have nothing but
praise with my local B&Q store. But just to infom you if you
have read your Terms when applying for the card it does state that
it cannot be used in conjuction with any other specical offer price.
Which is fair! 'd rather have 25 % than 10 % !!!

Dear Sir/Madame,I know my complaint is not
anywhere near as bad as some of the people that
have wrote on this page, but my experience with B&Q made me
so annoyed i was compelled to search the internet on B&Q (but
B&Q dont have a complaint section).I had decided to do D.I.Y
job in the house so I thought I would visit the local B&Q in
Wigan for the first and LAST time.
When I went in I had no idea where anything was, I tried on many
occastions to get assistance from one of the staff (when you could
find one) every member of staff I could find completely ignored
me, I could get no assistence what so ever.
I was walking around the store for a good 20 mins trying to find
a member of staff (or the products I was seeking) to send me in
the right direction, but to no avail I got that annoyed at this
point I walked out and took my buisness elsewhere.I have spent over
2600 on my project which I was prepaired to spend at B&Q (there
loss) but now I wouldn`t go there if you paid me.
(p.s they are planning to open another B&Q in Wigan they can`t
even manage the one that they have here existingly)

I think that your power tool prices for dewalt
and black and decker are a rip off, there is a shop(tools
direct staffs ltd) in my area that sells for half the price that
u do, i feel sorry for the people who buy power tools from u.
