Dear Mr Jon Curtis

Thank you for your correspondence dated September 17th 2002, which expresses your defiant keenness in awaiting a third party involvement.

I noted you mentioned there would be no further compensation given out to my family, however I feel that I must point out that we have had no compensation from your company to date.

Your course of action with me as done very little for your client/customer relations, as I will not drop this blatant injustice that you company has put upon me. You call my loss consequential; you try telling my children that while they sat in our car 400 miles from home asking “Where do we go now Dad”. It was your caravan that was in a unliveable mess, your staff even agreed with me, your caravan site that had in excess of 100 bin bags piled 4 metres high, your customer service area that had in excess of 100 disillusioned customers of yours. That is only a few to mention, believe you me Mr Curtis, by the time I pull this into Forfar Sheriff court your bosses will be asking you, why.

Your company was at fault due to your company’s employees or agents wilful default of duty, this is a fact, your site manager agreed in front of seven witnesses that your caravan was a mess, and agreed that the rubbish was unacceptable.

I am putting to your company an offer; I will accept a one off payment in full of £500, this being the cost to me of accommodating my family over for the 5 days.
Theme park family tickets £50, eating out for a family of five will cost the thick end of £60.00 per day, petrol per day £20 to £30, those are items I would not have expected to pay if I had been accommodated on your site.

This offer is without prejudice and will stand for 14 days only. After the 14 days, if I don’t have an offer, my claim will be made in the Forfar Sheriff Court for £700 taking into account the expense of getting my family to your caravan site.

Yours Sincerely
James Irvine Pryce

"This letter I sent (see Complaint above) did indeed buck up the ideas of this company. They gave us a free week in a caravan down in the west country, a real nice site and I only wish this company was not so stuborn to start with. Jim.."

Please let us hear of your experiences- both positive and negative.

We have had a very minor bad experience here in Canada -Sherkston Shores - we went there for Thanksgiving for three days - had a nice time - considered future purchase - 1hr. away on our way home realized we left my husbands arthrictic silver bracelet in the bedroom - called with cell phone - employee said they would check - called when we got home told employee did not have time but would look into it - every call after that was met with yea yea yea we will check it out - then they said they would let us know after the cleaning staff was in the next week -

every time I called it was like we were asking them to search the moon - this final time (as they never once returned our calls even though I gave them a 1800 number so it would be a free call) I just received a brochure in the mail encouraging us to book a holiday so it got me going again and I called only to be met with a sarcastic tone and told "you must of let it somewhere else" - since the bracelet was in the bedroom 5 minutes before we left and my husband forgot to go in a put it on and we left without it and locked the trailer doore there is no "somewhere else".

A $300 vacation has now cost us $500 and could have been at least saved by courteous and helpful response to our request at our first call had the staff gone to the trailer and retrieved the bracelet for us.

Cant imagine how these people would react if you really needed their help.

all the best from Canada Jackie Oddie ....2 November 2002
