I wish to complain about the negative impact of the charaters and story line of tonights episode of eastenders. (11 December 2003).

The amount of rapes committed in britain that go unreported each year is on the rise and shows like this can give a positive view of the benefits of reporting sexual offences not just against women but men and children.

Eastenders has such a wide range of viewers that this storyline could have served as a positive message to those who have suffered or are suffering sexual abuse to seek help.

Even if the character had contacted a helpline would have been better than two second rate actresses glorifying and simplifying a serious sexual offence.

I wish to complain about the nature of the character of 'little Mo'. On this occassion they should have given her charater more credit and inteligence. I am sickened that the charater did not consider any other victims her rapist may assault.

I have contacted the BBC in an effort to complain about the contents of the show and the fact that the actresses should have shown a little more responsibility regarding performances and the messages being sent out to people.

How dare you drop Kilroy from your programme. I thought we have freedon of speech in this country or has that been taken away from the true British and only now applies to foreigners like "Dr Hook" the muslim cleric who preaches violence against us on our own streets. As a licence fee payer i TOTALLY object to you dropping someone's programme just because they have the guts to say what normal people think. You truly have lost the plot at the BBC if you pander to the loony leftwing politically correct idiots who live in this country and totally undermine it - why don't they and you go and live in one of these arab countries where freedom of speech never existed and see what you are encouraging.

You make me sick. It's really about time you were privatised, you really have overstepped the mark lately and have lost any respect you once deserved. You waste our money on programmes which are not in the interests of our nation and you should be stopped. The fat cats at the BBC should be sacked. Mrs Manchee .. 10 January 2004

Freedom of speech is not an absolute right and people who use it irresponsibly deserve to have it taken away. Otherwise you might as well object to being thrown out of Parkhead for sectarian chanting on the grounds that you were only exercising your right to free speech. Racial and religious bigotry isn't acceptable in this country and "free speech" is no justification for it.
